On April 8, the team working on ’s Engineering and Computer Science Initiative project marked a major milestone with a topping out ceremony, celebrating placement of the final beam on the new facility.

ÍøÆØÃÅ Senior Vice President Lee Sommerman, Vice President Dave Hollander and Regional Operations Manager Andrew McKay attended the event, along with members of the project team.

The new facility will provide much-needed office, research, teaching and student spaces to support Union College’s growing engineering and computer science programs. ÍøÆØÃÅ is serving as construction manager on the project through its NY Capital Region office.

ÍøÆØÃÅ Assistant Project Manager Evan Weitz and Carpenter Journeyman Vincent Barbaro recently visited the to share information with students about careers in the trades.

The presentation, coordinated by the (NCTWC), highlighted the many career paths available in the construction industry and skilled trades. Evan and Vincent shared their personal career paths and experiences with the students, along with information about ÍøÆØÃÅ.

³¢±ð°ä³ó²¹²õ±ð’s NY Capital Region team has a longstanding partnership with the NCTWC and Chief Estimator Scott Lawler serves on the organization’s board.

On February 25, ÍøÆØÃÅ joined for a ribbon cutting ceremony celebrating the completion of the Janus project in Schenectady, NY. ÍøÆØÃÅ Vice President Dave Hollander and Director of Field Operations Eric Coburn, Sr. attended the event alongside members of the project team.

The project transformed the manufacturing facility to better serve DSM-Firmenich’s operations. The updated space now features a centralized dispensary, as well as customized packaging and advanced powder technology rooms. The facility’s layout is intended to improve workflow and increase efficiency.

³¢±ð°ä³ó²¹²õ±ð’s NY Capital Region team partnered with architect as the design-builder on the project.

ÍøÆØÃÅ recently participated in a groundbreaking ceremony marking the start of renovations at the Van Rensselaer Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility. ÍøÆØÃÅ Senior Vice President Jim Scheirer and Regional Operations Manager Andrew McKay attended the event alongside members of the project team.

This renovation will make updates throughout the facility, improving spaces to better serve its residents. ³¢±ð°ä³ó²¹²õ±ð’s NY Capital Region team is serving as construction manager on the project.

ÍøÆØÃÅ recently welcomed students from ’s American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) chapter for a tour of the new Engineering and Computer Science Initiative project, which is currently under construction on campus.

During the visit, students connected with the project team, asked questions about the construction process and got a firsthand look at structural steel being erected on site.

On Friday, January 16, the team working on the Engineering and Computer Science Initiative project completed the final concrete pour for the building’s foundation.

On December 11, ÍøÆØÃÅ joined local community members to celebrate the completion of the Albany West Community Center project. ÍøÆØÃÅ Vice President Dave Hollander attended the event alongside members of the project team.

³¢±ð°ä³ó²¹²õ±ð’s NY Capital Region office served as agency CM for the new community space, which includes meeting rooms, fitness facilities, an outdoor pool and other recreational areas.

ÍøÆØÃÅ recently joined in celebrating the start of the Spa Little Theater project at a groundbreaking ceremony. ÍøÆØÃÅ Senior Vice President Jim Scheirer and Director of Field Operations Eric Coburn, Sr. attended the event alongside members of the project team.

The project will revitalize the historic theater in Saratoga Springs, upgrading accessibility, patron amenities and performance spaces, while restoring many of the building’s historic elements. ³¢±ð°ä³ó²¹²õ±ð’s NY Capital Region team is serving as construction manager on the project.

The Charlton School Expansion and Renovation project has received a 2025 Excellence in Partnering Award from the . Each year, the award honors project teams that have achieved the high ideals of both formal and informal partnering on construction projects across the state.

ÍøÆØÃÅ partnered with  and on the project, which was completed in June. This transformational expansion and renovation created new residential and support spaces at the school – adding four new student dormitories and a campus facilities building.

Members of the NY Capital Region team joined our partners from The Charlton School and Balzer and Tuck to accept the award at a ceremony on December 10.

ÍøÆØÃÅ recently joined in celebrating the start of the (ESYO) project at a groundbreaking ceremony. ÍøÆØÃÅ Vice President Dave Hollander attended the event alongside the ESYO team, community leaders and members of the project team.

The project will transform the former St. Joseph’s Parish School in Schenectady into a state-of-the-art youth music center featuring rehearsal and recording studios, performance space and administrative offices.
