The Charlton School Expansion and Renovation project has received a 2025 Excellence in Partnering Award from the . Each year, the award honors project teams that have achieved the high ideals of both formal and informal partnering on construction projects across the state.

At a ceremony on November 6, the Avery Residence Hall Renovation and Addition project received a 2025 Excellence in Construction Eagle Award from the The project won in the Renovations/Restorations: $25M – $50M category.

Serving as construction manager, worked with  and construction management partner  to upgrade and expand the residence hall. Work included replacing Avery’s heating and cooling system, adding a 4,570-SF addition with a new elevator and making additional improvements throughout the existing building to enhance comfort and accessibility.

Members of the Southeast team joined other project partners at the event to accept the award.

At a ceremony on October 23, the Durham Public Schools Murray-Massenburg Elementary School project received a Best Project Award in the ENR Texas & Southeast Regional Best Projects competition. The award was first announced in August, with the project recognized in the K-12 Education category.

Three projects have been honored in the (ENR) Regional Best Projects competition.

The Durham Public Schools Murray-Massenburg Elementary School received a 2025 Best Project Award in the K-12 Education category from  The three-story school – comprised of several wings centered around an open courtyard – features a non-conventional layout and various indoor and outdoor learning spaces. It is on track to be the first WELL-certified K-12 elementary school in the state. The project was previously recognized with a 2024 Excellence in Construction Merit Award from the  and a 2025 Build America Merit Award from the .

The United Health Services Wilson Medical Center New Tower & Renovation project received the Best Project Award in the Healthcare category. As the first major upgrade to the campus in more than 30 years, the project added a new 183,000-SF, six-story tower and made 29,000 SF of renovations to the existing hospital. The expansion includes four floors of inpatient medical and surgical units with 30 private rooms each, a new emergency department, an MRI suite, a surgical support area and a rooftop helipad.

The Corning Museum of Glass B Building Studio Expansion project received an Award of Merit in the Cultural/Worship category. The project more than doubled the Studio’s available space for glassmaking programs and popular attractions like Make Your Own Glass. The updated space also houses the first large-scale kiln casting facility in North America, leading-edge glassmaking technologies and an artist-in-residence center. Earlier this year, The Studio was named one of TIME magazine’s World’s Greatest Places to Visit.

Addressing occupant-focused standards like natural lighting, air quality and noise reduction, the school is on track to be the first WELL-certified elementary school in North Carolina.

The Murray-Massenburg project was previously recognized with a 2024 Excellence in Construction (EIC) Merit Award from the .

Each year, the AGC presents the Build America Awards to honor the nation’s most impressive construction projects. Assistant Superintendent Brian Brewer accepted the award on April 9 at the AGC National Conference in Columbus, Ohio.

The Victory Lofts project in Johnson City, N.Y., has been named the “Best of the Best” renovation/restoration project in the nation by leading construction industry publication .

The prestigious honor recognizes how partnered with to transform the abandoned 275,000-square-foot EJ Victory shoe factory into 156 upscale market-rate apartments, along with space for future retail. Units combine a contemporary lifestyle featuring modern amenities with an industrial character conveyed through features such as concrete ceilings and exposed brick.

“Everyone on this project took great pride in giving new life to the historic EJ Victory building,” said Vice President Adam Green. “We’re honored that ENR appreciates the significance and care invested in this restoration and we thank everyone in Broome County who supported the effort.”

The award was the latest of several high-level accolades has recently received from the publication. Victory Lofts – along with 󲹲’s expansion of the Strong National Museum of Play and construction of the UR Medicine Orthopaedics and Physical Performance Center in Rochester, NY – earned 2024 Regional Best Projects Awards from ENR NY. was also chosen last year as ENR NY’s 2024 Contractor of the Year, which included a feature profile in the magazine’s July 2024 edition.

In addition:

  • The Victory Lofts restoration was one of two projects – the other being The Strong Museum expansion – to win 2024 Build America Awards from the Associated General Contractors of America. The honor recognizes the country’s “most impressive construction projects.”
  • New York Gov. Kathy Hochul named the Victory Lofts as one of 11 winners of the 2024 New York State Historic Preservation Awards. This annual honor, according to Hochul’s announcement, recognizes “excellence in the protection and revitalization of historic and cultural resources.”

The Victory Lofts project broke ground in March 2022 and restored a storied landmark that had been vacant for nearly 40 years. The shoe factory, which opened around 1920 and supplied a significant share of U.S. Army footwear, was named Victory to honor the allies’ triumph in World War I. The factory closed in the late 1960s, and the building served as vehicle storage until being abandoned in the 1980s.
