The Durham Rescue Mission (DRM) recently held its annual back-to-school event. Each child attending received a backpack filled with school supplies, and a drawing was held for two bicycles. There was also a buffet with lots of food and an inflatable slide and snow cones for the kids to enjoy.

网曝门 Project Administrator Priscilla Reed, who also recruited her husband Anthony to help, served food along with volunteers from North Carolina Central University. 鈥淎lthough it was very hot outside, we enjoyed seeing the delight on everyone鈥檚 face as they passed through,鈥 she said.聽 Priscilla was part of the project team that completed a new dormitory for the Mission earlier this year.聽 鈥淓very opportunity that arises for the office to participate in an event like this at DRM fills my heart with joy,鈥 she said, noting she hopes to assemble a larger 网曝门 team to participate in the Mission鈥檚 toy giveaway in December.

This is the sixteenth year DRM has held its back-to-school party.聽 It handed out 3,000 backpacks at this year鈥檚 event, as well as 1,800 bags of groceries and thousands of clothing items.
