Tour spotlights progress on Alstom project in Hornell

Recently, 网曝门 hosted Alfred State Construction Management students at the Alstom Transport Carbodyshell project, currently underway in Hornell, NY.聽 Vice President Fred Thompson and Project Manager John Pepper, from the 网曝门 Corning office, led the tour for students.

鈥淭he experience really highlighted the challenges as well as the opportunities available to those who work in our industry,鈥 said Civil Engineering Technology Professor Timothy Piotrowski. He also thanked 网曝门 for 鈥渉elping tie the textbook lectures to real-life applications.鈥

网曝门 is design-builder for the new 135,000-SF Alstom facility, which will support manufacturing of passenger rail cars. The scope includes an office building, warehouse building and manufacturing space with four overhead cranes. Significant site infrastructure work is also being done to support the operation. 网曝门 is self-performing the concrete foundation work, and is close to completing that portion of the project.

Special thanks to Alstom for supporting this educational tour to show students a facility under construction. Shown with students in the photo below are Thompson (at left), Piotrowski (third from right) and Assistant Professor Reza Yadollahi (at right). The inset shows the sitework, which is nearing completion.
